Poetry Prompts Day 4 - OctPoWriMo 2016

When I created this list it came to me kind of like word association, one word led to another word. Of course to make it look pleasing on the meme I had to move them around a little. Today's word is purple. At first I thought, "What in the world would someone write about purple?" but then I remembered that colors can be like scents, they can bring up a memory.

Day 4 Prompt: Purple

Possibilities:

Free write for ten minutes about purple - when was the first time you noticed purple, how do you feel about purple, what images come up for you around the color purple (besides the movie, unless of course it was something that affected your life).

Shadowpoetry.com has many types of poetry as well as invented types, that is one of the many reasons I love looking for different types of poetry on their site. The suggested type of poetry for today is an invented type, I hope you decide to play with it.

Suggested poetry type: Cascade

Word Prompts:

shade
tone
tincture
spectral
mottle

Music for your Muse:

Remember, our prompts are only suggestions, where you find inspiration for your poetry is up to you.
During OctPoWriMo, if you want to make sure that we know you have written something new, comment in that day's post with your link to your blog and/or share your link on Twitter with the hashtag, #OctPoWriMo.
If you would like to leave an active link in the comments:

<a href = "your link">your title</a>

You have to put the link to your post (same link you would put in the comment section) in the, "your link" space within the quotations and the title to your post in the, your title, space.

Our link would look this:

<a href="https://poetsonthepage.blogspot.com/">OctPoWriMo</a>

Once you hit publish on your comment it would look like this (only with the name of your post):

OctPoWriMo

I hope that helps. You don't have to do this, it is only if you would like to make your link an active link.

Remember to visit two or more OctPoWriMo participants and leave encouraging and supportive words along the way.

Peace,
Morgan Dragonwillow
