Being a writer, and knowing how it feels when someone uses my work without permission, I think it is important not to display photos without permission unless they are from a free site such as the one I mentioned above. You also want to make sure you link back to the original photo and give attribution.
That being said, you don't have to be a professional photographer to take unusual or interesting shots that would make a nice addition to your poetry.
