Day 11 Prompt: Lively

Choose one of the above definitions and write from there.

Free write asking yourself how lively you are or aren't.

Suggested Poetry Type: Acrostic and if you really want to challenge yourself, try the double Acrostic at the bottom of the Shadow Poetry page.

Have you tried blackout poetry? You can take an article in an old magazine (or book but I have a hard time doing that), circle the words for your poem and then blackout the rest.

Word Prompts:

Music for your Muse:

Remember, our prompts are only suggestions, where you find inspiration for your poetry is up to you.
During OctPoWriMo, if you want to make sure that we know you have written something new, comment in that day's post with your link to your blog and/or share your link on Twitter with the hashtag, #OctPoWriMo.

You have to put the link to your post (same link you would put in the comment section) in the, "your link" space within the quotations and the title to your post in the, your title, space.

Our link would look like this:

Once you hit publish on your comment it would look like this (only with the name of your post):

I hope that helps. You don't have to do this, it is only if you would like to make your link an active link.

Remember to visit two or more OctPoWriMo participants and leave encouraging and supportive words along the way.

  2. Getting a jumpstart on Day 11. I have to say that the Acrostic style is one of my favorites, and the prompt, Lively, works wonderfully with the form. Today, I celebrate woman, myself, freedom and empowerment.

  3. I've finally been able to visit a few people on the list. I try to visit 5 at a time because I do well at remembering numbers that are multiples of five.
I've tried Twitter, and I know some people swear by it, but I just can't make myself like it, I'm afraid. I have multiple blogs both on Blogger and Tumblr, I have Facebook and I have pinterest. I think Twitter is just one thing too many for me!

  4. Earlier in the morning works for me, following the trail of 'first words' before working on my wip. I'm working on not censoring those first thoughts, recognizing that just maybe what fuels my writing is truly 'seeing'. So here's today's effort, "Where did determined come from?" Write on!

  5. have a great day :)
