Poetry Prompt Day 12 - OctPoWriMo 2016

How are you faring with this daily challenge? Me? Not so good. I am writing this post on my phone in my flooded apartment in Chesapeake, Virginia. Hurricane Matthew was brutal here and we lost 2 vehicles, a piano, and numerous other personal items. It could have been far worse and my heart is heavy for those who fared worse than we did. If you were impacted, then this prompt is coming at a perfect time!

The Prompt: STRONG

What comes to mind when you hear the word "strong"? Here are some of my thoughts: strong storm, strong body, strong spirit, strong drink...

Word Prompts:

Music For Your Muse:

Christina Aguilera - Fighter

Remember, our prompts are only suggestions, where you find inspiration for your poetry is up to you.
During OctPoWriMo, if you want to make sure that we know you have written something new, comment in that day's post with your link to your blog and/or share your link on Twitter with the hashtag, #OctPoWriMo.

If you would like to leave an active link in the comments:
<a href = "your link">your title</a>
You have to put the link to your post (same link you would put in the comment section) in the, "your link" space within the quotations and the title to your post in the, your title, space.
Our link would look like this:
<a href="https://poetsonthepage.blogspot.com/">OctPoWriMo</a>
Once you hit publish on your comment it would look like this (only with the name of your post):
I hope that helps. You don't have to do this, it is only if you would like to make your link an active link.
Remember to visit two or more OctPoWriMo participants and leave encouraging and supportive words along the way.

  7. I'm really sorry you are having to deal with the damage from the storm. I experienced the flooding in Boulder, Colorado in 2013 and it left me with some PTSD. I was angry with myself because my home wasn't really damaged, but I was driving when my car was hit by a wall of water. I managed to stay on the road, but it left me shaken. It made it hard to write for a while after that. I was never really sure why.

  8. So sorry to hear you were caught in Matthew's aftermath. But glad overall you're okay!

  9. Very , very sorry for your loss, praying for more power and strength your way.
